Aloha!
I'm Ron Chapple, owner of the Molokini.com and Haleakala.com websites. I'm proud to call island of Maui my home. I have lived in the town of Kihei, for over thirty years. My wife and I raised our two sons here. From my view of the ocean, I get to see Molokini every day with the island of Kahoʻolawe in the background. There's so many moods. The clouds covering the island, the storms that pass through, and the incredible sunsets. It's just an amazing view every day.
I acquired the Molokini.com domain name about 20 years ago with the thought that "some day" I would create a website to share the history and culture of Molokini with our visitors. Well, that "some day" has finally come - I retired in October 2025!

About Me
Photography was my passion and profession for many years before transitioning into aerial cinematography and geospatial work. My projects took me to every island in the state of Hawaii, all over the United States, and to over thirty countries. I filmed Kilauea many times and witnessed the beauty of this planet earth. My clients included National Geographic, BBC, Discovery Channel, PBS, and the National Park Service. Along the way, I won several Emmy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize.
